Overview of the USMLE Step 2 Exam

The USMLE Step 2 Exam is the second of three USMLE examination steps required of medical students seeking licensure in the United States and its territories. There are 2 section to the Step 2 exam - Step 2-CK (Clinical Knowledge), and Step 2-CS (Clinical Skills).

A Focus on Concepts and Independent Clinical Reasoning

The program employs a combination of live lectures and one-on-one tutoring by MDs who have successfully completed the program. We have all students re-learn key basic medical science concepts. In addition we show students how to take that information and apply it at a clinical level. We demonstrate how to reason from signs and symptoms to complications; from drugs of choice to side effects; from cause of death to long and short term management. In other words, we don't focus on memorization - we teach you how to independently apply concepts!

Our revolutionary approach helps you learn, understand, apply, and master the practice of medicine rather than trying to memorize an endless number of facts. We want you to be knowledgeable; we want you to feel prepared; and we want you to feel confidence in yourself and your abilities.

Intensive Personal Attention and One-On-One Tutoring

We also provide an intense level of one-on-one tutoring support that is unmatched by other USMLE Step 2 preparation programs. In addition, test taking skills sessions are conducted three times per week and there is an individual weekly review of high yield topics.

One-on one tutoring sessions are provided by M.D.s that have completed the program. In our 4 week program students receive 2 individual tutoring sessions per week and in our 8 week program students receive 4 individual tutoring sessions per week during the first half of the program and 5 sessions per week during the second half. These sessions are based on the needs of individual students and may include:

• Answering questions from lectures
• Reviewing self assessment exams
• Developing custom study plans
• Questions banks
• Working on study and test taking skills

Faculty and students get to know each other and students are encouraged to interact with faculty during lectures. Large class programs can't provide this level of attention and personal interaction.
